One SweetS Week

All along, I thought I have overcome the "ultimate" craving of anything sweet. I don't wanna remember how addicted I was when it comes to cakes and cupcakes three years ago. I decided (with conviction) to bake very seldom just to forget my sweet addiction. But sometimes, you just got to give yourself a break (want to sing to the tune of I want to break free!!!) LOL......and so, I did! Yipeeee!

Had these last week...

This is ROCKY ROAD cake from A La Creme, which is one of the famous cake shop and cafe here in Angeles City. If you get to pass by here in Pampanga, try visiting their place at Stall 1&2 Alcon Bldg., Mac Arthur Hiway, Angeles. You may contact them at Phone: (045) 861-0829, 63(45) 888-2303.

This BLACK VELVET cake, which is one of Goldilocks best moist chocolatey flavor. I love it for the fact that it's not too sweet. However, the chocolate ganache-like frosting has this gum-paste consistency which has a tendency for the whole icing to cling either on fork or cake cutter if you were not able to slice it all the way. This is priced at  Php275.00 (petite)  Php550.00 (8", round)

These I bought from a friend here at work. She bakes / sells Red Velvet which are more delish in my own opinion than that of Sophie's, which me and my sisters have tried and received the same feedback. For those of you who would like to order, you can leave a comment on her blog.

These are macarons I bought from French Baker, SM Clark before going to work. They have four flavors - raspberry, chocolate, pistachio, mocha which tasted almost THE SAME.  Sad to say but I do not recommend these. They were too sweet and I was able to feel that "raw starch" in my tongue. I just took a bite from each of these and they were just "sugary". I would rate it as 1/5 and for the price of 37 pesos each, I would rather go for their Croissants or Danish Pastries. But then, it is still up to you to taste it for yourself. Who knows, it might just suit your taste? :)

These are Krispy Kreme Baked Creations Pull Aparts and Kruffins! These are by far the best pastries that Krispy Kreme have ever baked. Kruffins had variety of flavors from which you can choose from; Carrot Pecan, Beef and Cheese, Banana Walnut, Mango Kruffin (which I highly recommend), Blueberry and Chocolate Kruffin. While for the Pull Aparts; selections are Ham and Cheese, Sausage and Cheese, Four Cheese, Cinnamon, Bacon and Cheese. Reasonably priced at 65 to 80 pesos each, these are must try!

Have you tried new sweets lately? Let me know, I might grab one of them this week!

It's me....

I hope these bakers are not using artificial sweeteners. My doctor warned me about the harms of artificial sweeteners during pregnancy.
