Jose Miguel's Birthday Preparation

I was out at 6:45 in the morning today from last night's shift. As usual, my brother together with my sister-in-law and mom picked me up from work. Today was not the usual "straight at home thingy" after spending the whole night at the call center. We were heading towards NLEX (North Luzon Expressway) and I am starting to get really, really sleepy. I have filed a leave for today because I already figured out that I won't be able to survive at work for tonight's shift with my eyes wide open and my mind awake and in its normal state. My brother requested, or should I say been insisting since last Sunday that I should go with them to buy the stuffs that we need for next Tuesday, January 12 which happens to be my nephew's first birthday.

Everybody in the family was excited. My two sisters also wanted to come but the youngest has a duty at JBL Hospital while the other needs to work at the medical laboratory. Probably that was also the reason that I "stayed away" for the meantime working as a Physical Therapist. There are times that you wanted to be with your family but sometimes, patients are your priorities. Well....enough of that dwelling.

It was more exhausting on my part considering that I only had 2 hours of "good" sleep for the past 13 hours while on our way to Manila. I know that I'll need about 11 hours more before my back lay flat on the bed. Also, my foot still swells a bit and still feels the pain whenever I walk a lot. Finally, we reached the mall and I was not surprise to see that there are lesser people than I expected. The Holidays and cramming of the people were over as well as the eagerness to spend those bonuses and 13th month pays.....and now, back to reality.

We were walking back and forth, checking on each stall that sells Justice League stuffs because that's Jomi's (my nephew) theme for his upcoming birthday.

It's a good move that we already bought the birthday invitations before Christmas including the balloons and the other stuff that we'll be needing for setting up the venue, which of course our own garden at home.

These were the pictures in the tarpaulin. Infostation made it and it only took them an hour to finish everything from picture photoshop to tarpaulin printing.

We had Jomi's face placed on Superman's that is why we added the word "Super" before Jomi's name. It was so cute. LOL

I bought this outfit myself which he will probably wear on the first half of his birthday before he changes his costume. He would be like Spiderman but the twist is once the clown calls his name on his birthday, he would be riding on the car that my mom gave him as a Christmas gift instead of having all those cobwebs effect.

The battery operated cars will also be given to the male winners of the games.

His tokens will be backpacks printed with Superman and Spiderman and the caps for ages 1-2 and 3-5.

The gifts and tokens for the girls who will be going to his party.

The toys that will be hanged in the Pabitin (lattice of goodies). Pabitin is a popular game here in the Philippines. It is usually played in birthday parties and town fiestas and a favorite treat for children. It's a hanging bamboo frame tied with goodies and fun items.

Included in the pabitin are stickers of Spiderman and Superman. Although Spiderman is really not a part of Justice League, we don't have many choices which are why we included Spiderman. It's actually Justice League and other Super heroes theme. LOL. Also, there are yo-yo, jackstones and wonder bubbles.

We'll buy assorted chocolates and candies this weekend and place them inside these party favor bags so that kids can munch on something while watching the clowns do their magical stuff. Also, each kid will be given party hats to wear during the party.

We also thought of having just one game for moms. All of those who'll join will get an umbrella...in anticipation for the rainy days. LOL

Happy Birthday JoMi. Love, Auntie Ninang - which means Godmother :0)
